What do Star Wars and Mose Allison have in common?

I regisered with e-snips a few moments ago, and uploaded a couple of mp3's created by Star Wars fans. If you care to give an opinion, please let me know if you enjoyed "Star Wars in 30 Seconds" and "My Name Is Darth Vader." I assure you that they were downloaded for free. I don't recall exactly where I got them from, but I am sure they are not copyrighted.

I learned about e-snips from Stephen, who used it to introduce to me the music of Mose Allison. Mose's voice is like silk, he graduated from LSU in 1952 with a double-major in English and Philosophy, and he is a jazz legend! Stephen, I have to tell you that I have become an instant fan! Thank you so much for thinking of me.

His name is even Jewish - he feels like a soul-mate.

I don't know if any of the readers are Star Wars geeks like me, but if you are let me know what you think of the tracks. Also let me know if you didn't get the invitation, so I can send you one.

I liked "Star Wars in 30 Seconds". The other one was OK; it made me wonder i you're identifying with Darth Vader these days.

Do you know the song by The Who, "Young Man Blues"? It's actually a Mose Allison tune, and it's comical to hear how radically different the two interpretations are. The Who made it all their own, but to appreciate it you'd have to like rock music of the sort that blisters the paint on your walls.

Oh, we're Star Wars fans, all right. (Did David mention we now play in a Star Wars role playing game? Fwhat?? He didn't? Well... it must not have seemed relevant.) Anyway, thank you for the invitation, but forgive me if I don't get a chance to look at it for a couple weeks. Things are really hectic for me right now what with studying for my final, final lesson planning, grading essays, writing final papers, and... um... running from storm troopers (only on Wednesdays at Neutral Ground.)

Yeah well Star Wars is a serious geek sink for me, although i like the world a lot more then some of the movies *cough*.

Guess what i play in the game? (btw for those not in the geek know, there is a roleplaying game (table-top) designed around the Star Wars world.) All the same, I play an incredibly ethical Jedi who would love nothing more then to spend his life creating holocrons (think virtual books for jedi) documenting all knowledge. Think Jedi Librarian. So in a confrontation with Vader (I mean it is star wars eh?) My guy steals Vader's sword and runs. He doesn't want to kill Vader, just disarm so no one else will die.

............

Did i go too far?

Yeah well ok. So yeah i'm a star wars geek.

P.S. If you happen to be interested in what mary and I are talking about, go to http://starwars.arkadios.net/
(I have a new website arkadios.net that i'm attempting to do something with. Not sure what that thing is yet.)

That is our wiki/log of our game. I'm Corinius Thatcher btw. Thats my jedi name.

DV's not an entirely unsympathetic character, you know. What's wrong with wanting to make use of all your negative emotions? I mean, if it's for the greater good. 'N stuff. The universe should be dominated by someone responsible. Industrious. Powerful and smart. You wouldn't want to be dominated by someone who was weak and dumb and lazy, would you? Well there you have it then.

Hannah and Arglor: Star Wars geeks are we. If I had the time, I would surely play Star Wars.

Corinius Thatcher: I suppose stealing the saber and running was a preferable alternative to slaughtering Vader outright and saving billions from the pain, suffering, and death under Empire tyrrany. Good going. (LOL!)
