Ken Miller on Intelligent Design

This is a very long video (almost 2 hours) but quite worthwhile for anyone interested in understanding why intelligent design creationism is bad science. Especially interesting to me were the bits where Miller discusses evidence against irreducible complexity.

Miller is a Roman Catholic biology professor at Brown University, and he believes that faith and science are compatible. I disagree with him on this one point, but not in a strict sense. Miller's beliefs certainly don't make him any less a scientist.

It is so good to see you post again. I wish I had time to read more of it. I am so swamped. I've never been this busy before.

My week is as follows (45+ hours a week working, sometimes as much as 52+) then i have class 2 nights a week and the rest of my time is spent reading/living/dying.

Thanks for letting me know what you're up to. Perhaps you understand why I'm not in school anymore ... Imagine doing what you are doing now AND having three kids!

If you feel overwhelmed, remember to take one day at a time. Stay focused. You can do more than you think.

I find one thing interesting. I'm passing my classes with 100%s.

I have never done that before. It has to be something about maturity. I am spending more time studying obviously. I guess in a way when i was going through school the first time i took class for granted and just did what was necessary. And now I find myself looking at my far from spotless record thinking, "what if i could do it all again..."

So now I'm making 100%s.. I broke the curve on the last test, and I'm afraid I'm breaking the curve on the test i took tonight. I feel bad for the class, but I'm pleased in my performance.
