no career for you today. back to the end of the line!

Just in case you all were wondering, The Teach for America thing didn't work out for me.

Had I gone to the interview, I have no doubt whatsoever that they would have found a teaching position for me. The more I learned about what the commitment entailed, I felt it wasn't the right decision for me or my family.

I'm having a real problem choosing a direction. One thing I will not do is settle for something that is just "okay".

I just hope I can find the right opportunity soon.

Hi Mary P. :)

TFA acts as a kind of placement agency, so they can't tell an applicant about a specific job until they find one. I wouldn't have had to accept a position if it were offered to me, but the information packet they sent me raised some "red flags" for me. After long consideration, I decided it would be too much of an upheaval for my family, considering what we've already been through the past six months to a year.

If I were young and single, I think I would have gone for it. The testimonials say it can be outrageously frustrating, but highly rewarding.

You are absoluetly correct. If you can survive off of what you make now, then there is no need to accept what you don't want to do long term.

It was a good idea for me, because i wouldn't mind teach as a career. Although our nations current trend of treatment regarding teachers, makes me think that my choice is a poor one.

Good work for you though, making the decision final.

is anything ever final?

that last statement just hit me.

I believe that events that have taken place in the past are final, in the sense that they can't be altered. The past is set in a way that the future doesn't seem to be.

But, I could be wrong.

So, my opinion that all events that have taken place in the past cannot be altered and are therefore final, is not final.
